Mayor Weaver announces the release of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnership (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Request for Proposals (RFPs) for the 2019-2020 Action Plan funding cycle for funds received from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). RFPs are available in the Planning and Development Department, Community and Economic Development Division (CED), located in the basement of the City Hall Municipal Complex, South Building (located off of 7th Street). RFPs are being released for the following categories:
- Blight Elimination
- Economic development
- Housing
- Public Facility Improvements
- Public Services
The Mayor invites all interested and qualified 501(c)(3) organizations to join staff from CED at an agency workshop for the 2019/20 Action Plan process. The meeting will take place Tuesday December 18, 2018 at the Berston Center, 3300 N. Saginaw St., from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm. Staff will provide information on the Action Plan process, eligible CDBG and HOME activities, and compliance requirements. An additional workshop will be held on January 9, 2019 in the City’s Dome Auditorium to provide technical assistance on the actual application. A mandatory ESG pre-proposal workshop will be held on Wednesday January 9, 2019, in the City of Flint Dome Auditorium from 11 am until 12:30 pm.
