Crime Watch Training and Funding Opportunity

The City of Flint in partnership with the North Flint Neighborhood Action Council (NFNAC) is offering Crime Watch Training for block clubs and neighborhoods within the city.

The NFNAC will provide the following in accordance with the timeline and scope described as follows:

Select and train two (2) Block Clubs/community groups per ward (20 total) on how to start, re-establish and/or improve their Crime Watch Program.

Facilitate four (4) hours of training for the participants on Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). Monday, Sept 13th & Wednesday Sept 15th 5:00pm-7:30pm

Host a four (4)-hour Crime Watch training exercise with an overview on how to spend and properly report grant funds. Monday, Sept 20th & Wednesday Sept 22nd 5:00pm-7:30pm

Ask participants to attend a virtual program on Mental Health First Aid for participants provided by Genesee Health Systems.

The NFNAC will also oversee and disperse up to $1,500 to support the selected neighborhood groups who complete the training and are the first two in their ward to sign up. Awarded grant dollars shall be utilized for Crime Watch intervention tools
