Advisory: Michigan Democratic Party Progressive caucus to Co-host Flint Gathering for Racial Justice

Flint Residents Gather for Racial Justice

What:

Join Flint Residents as we call for an end to police killing of Black men and women, with a focus on ending white supremacy and systematic racism. “Our society has operated for hundreds of years under the ideology of whit supremacy. While most of us now would reject that idea, it nonetheless shapes our reality. As a white person, I have to do all that I can to understand how this works at both the personal and policy levels while actively undoing it.” States Co-host Elizabeth Jordan

This event is held in the names of George Floyd, Breona Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and the many other people whose lives have been taken. “Politics has no place in the right for one to breathe freely. The life of a person cannot be used to justify prejudice. His final breaths should not be in vain” explains Flint resident Domonique Williams.

This will be a peaceful and purposeful event suitable for all ages. Social distancing guidelines must be adhered to. We ask that all participants wear facemasks.
