Supporting Small Businesses and Workers

Many of the small businesses in our community—restaurants, barbershops and retail stores—are still struggling due to the coronavirus pandemic. These small businesses and their workers make up the fabric of our community and need our continued help.

I am pleased that last week the U.S. House of Representatives passed my legislation, the RELIEF for Main Street Act, to provide $15 billion in direct support to the smallest businesses on Main Street—with fewer than 20 full-time employees. While the Paycheck Protection Program helped retain many jobs, my bill would provide direct economic relief to those in need.

As this bill moves to the Senate, I urge Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to pass this important bill into law to provide relief for those who need it most.

I hope that you’ll stay in touch with me so I can best represent you. I encourage you to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and sign up for my newsletter at dankildee.house.gov/contact/newsletter.

Sincerely,
Dan Kildee
