Flint, Michigan – April 13, 2015 – In honor of the inauguration of the University of Michigan – Flint’s new chancellor, Mayor Dayne Walling will be issuing a proclamation making Friday, April 17, 2015 Dr. Susan Borrego Day. The proclamation will be presented to Dr. Borrego by Mayor Walling during a ceremony at the Flint Farmers Market on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Tuesday has been designated UM-Flint Day at the Flint Farmers Market with activities taking place between 11:30am-1:00pm.
Dr. Borrego will be the seventh chancellor to head the University of Michigan – Flint during its almost 60 years of existence. “The contribution to the community made by U of M-Flint over the years and its continued involvement has been of tremendous benefit to not only our city, but the entire area,” said Mayor Walling. “We warmly welcome Dr. Borrego to our community and look forward to working together toward the improving the lives of our citizens through continued educational opportunities.”
