New Investment in Historic Carriage Neighborhood with Georgia Manor Apartments
Flint, Michigan – Communities First, Inc. is pleased to announce the virtual Ground Breaking Ceremony for Georgia Manor Apartments on Thursday, October 22 at 12:00pm. The project addresses several important community needs, including blight, affordable housing and neighborhood redevelopment. The current building at 411 Lyon Street has been vacant for the past 20 years.
“Georgia Manor Apartments has been vacant for over 20 years and we are excited to preserve and revitalize the historic building while creating equitable housing opportunities for Flint area residents.”, said Glenn Wilson, President/CEO of Communities First, Inc.
Communities First, Inc. has partnered with several others to bring this development to life. Partners include Michigan State Housing Development Authority, City of Flint, Flagstar Bank, Communities of Hope, Inc, C.S. Mott Foundation and Alliant Capital.
Federal, State and Agency Dignitaries are scheduled to speak at the event. Congressman Dan Kildee, Senator Jim Ananich, Mayor Sheldon Neeley and others. The public is invited to join Communities First, Inc. for the Groundbreaking Ceremony. The festivities will begin virtually on the Communities First, Inc.
