Full Time AmeriCorps Positions Available Now!

Communities First, Inc. is searching for one full time AmeriCorps members to support our housing development work! Members will receive a stipend and educational award. We are interviewing candidates immediately. Interested parties should contact Essence Wilson at ewilson@communitiesfirstinc.org asap. Candidates will begin serving from home and transition to in office service at our Flint or Detroit location if/when it becomes safe to do so.

Communities First, Inc. and Local Initiatives Support Corporation are seeking a full-time AmeriCorps member to serve as a Housing Development Assistant. We are recruiting a full-time AmeriCorps member to be a part of our team for 10 months. The position will remain open until filled. The exact start and end date of the contract position is confirmed by the Member Agreement of Participation that will require signature prior to the start of service. This is an AmeriCorps position and the individual selected to serve is not considered to be an employee of Communities First, Inc. or LISC.

The member is expected to undertake the following activities toward goal achievement:

  • Conduct housing market and development research
  • Assist with coordination of housing development
  • Assist with resident needs assessment and community input regarding developments
  • Help to identify potential housing projects

In performing these activities, Communities First, Inc. and LISC AmeriCorps anticipate that the person in this position will achieve the following goal(s):
Provide housing counseling services to 75 clients where 125 of the people are transitioned into safe, healthy, affordable housing as a result of the aforementioned activities
