Friday: North Flint Oral History Viewing

I wanted to invite you to check out the prototype for our North Flint Oral History mobile exhibition.

Students designed and built the structure in December, and we’ll have a “viewing” tomorrow at the UCEN gallery from 4-6pm. It will rotate oral histories that are gathered/shared, and currently includes some portions of 2 interviews that we recorded with King Ave PLUS in 2017, including a nice interview with Connie about the neighborhood businesses back in the day, and a forward-looking recording of Charles talking about what he hopes the future will bring.

If you’re not able to make it tomorrow, we plan on bringing it to the neighborhood soon with a new set of stories. Hoping to plan some dates with NEH and others for Spring/Summer! You can also view a walk-through here: https://youtu.be/LInX0m-e-3A

There is construction between parking and the entrance, but it is indeed open. You can get directions by clicking here.

Feel free to call if you need anything: 248.790.2342

Thanks (as always) for your continued collaboration and friendship!
