Free Independent Testing of Drinking Water

As part of an ongoing study of drinking water quality in Flint, Wayne State University (WSU) is looking for residents to have their drinking water sampled on December 5, 2015.

It will take approximately 20 minutes to collect samples. Water samples will be collected from the kitchen or bathroom taps. Samples will be analyzed for the amount of lead (Pb), trihalomethanes (THMs) and other chemicals that have been reported to be problems in Flint water. Results of the analysis will be reported to residents within 30 days.

If you are interested in participating, contact Dr. Shawn P. McElmurry, Professor of Environmental Engineering, by email at s.mcelmurry@wayne.edu or phone at 313-577-3876. Please provide your contact information and Dr. McElmurry will follow up before sampling on December 5th.
