I hope that everyone is well! At our most recent Blight Elimination and Vacant Lot Reuse training on Monday, October 10th, Habitat announced an excited new program that we are rolling out called Flint BRAND (Building Resident Action by Neighborhood Design)!
Flint BRAND Flyer (PDF)
Through the program, Genesee County Habitat for Humanity will work with neighborhood associations, block clubs, and other grassroots organizations to implement resident designed projects that create a visible, positive, and lasting change in the physical landscape of Flint neighborhoods. Whether its the creation of a pocket park in your neighborhood, the construction of benches or recreation equipment in your neighborhood park, the creation of a community food or rain garden, or increased lighting or safety improvements along a neighborhood corridor, Habitat can help to make your group’s vision a reality!
Attached is a copy of the program flyer, guidelines, and frequently asked questions. Interested applicants are encouraged to review these materials and contact me at (810)766-9089 ext. 208 or vslocum@geneseehabitat.org for more information. Individuals can also get more information at our website at http://www.geneseehabitat.org/flintbrand.html.
In addition, Habitat will be discussing the program in detail at Safe & Active Genesee’s Champions for Change Summit this Thursday from 4-7 pm. A copy of the flyer is attached. Anyone interested in more information can register at the link below:
