Youth Art Dance Experience Showcase
Heart of Worship Dance Studio Performance Features Area Dancers
(Flint, Mich.)- Inspiring young people is the goal of the Heart of Worship Dance Studio’s upcoming Youth Art Dance Experience. The event to be held on June 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at West Court Street Church of God is a partnership with Flint-area dance organizations and will showcase dance opportunities for children ages 4 to 19.
“Dance is a way for children to challenge their energy through artistic expression. At the Youth Dance Experience, we want to show kids how dance can inspire them and how it can empower them to make a difference,” said Porcha Clemons the studio’s owner.
The goal of Heart of Worship Dance Studio is to get kids up and moving by engaging them in the art of dance. The Studio currently offers ballet, hip hop, liturgical and jazz at no charge to children in the community.
Other organizations involved with the Youth Art Dance Experience include Tapology, Kuungana African Drum & Dance Company and El Ballet Folklorico Estudiantil.
The Heart of Worship Dance Studio is partially funded with support from Flint ReCAST. The Flint Resiliency in Communities After Stress and Trauma Program (ReCAST) is funded through SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration).
West Flint Church of God is located at 2920 W. Court Street in Flint. The event will be held on Saturday, June 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. Anyone interested in learning about the event can visit the studio’s Facebook page at facebook.com/HeartofWorshipDanceStudio.
