Hello Flint Neighborhoods United,
I’m Rachel Wenzlick, the new volunteer coordinator for the United Way of Genesee County. I have an AMAZING volunteer opportunity! It is short notice, but we are looking for 4-6 volunteers to assist the engineering team from Wayne State University this Sunday. The team will be here in Flint, in collaboration with Marc Edwards (Virginia Tech), to do more water testing. They will be visiting some of the homes of children who showed elevated blood lead levels, the water treatment plant, and other parts of the Flint community.
Volunteers are needed to escort/facilitate/guide them as they are not all that familiar with Flint. This will be an all-day project. The engineering team and volunteers will meet in the United Way of Genesee parking lot at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, October 18. The parking lot is located at 111 E Court St, Flint, MI, 48502, just east of the building.
