Water Street Foot Bridge to Close for Repairs
Flint, Michigan – April 29, 2015 – The City of Flint has determined today that the Water Street Foot Bridge crossing the Flint River downtown has a severely deteriorated walking surface and will therefore be closed until repairs can be made. Engineering firm Wade Trim, already under contract with the City, is expected to have specifications for repair ready by May 22, 2015.
The City will then issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to procure a contractor to perform a replacement of the timber deck planks of the bridge. It is the City’s intention to have the bridge work completed before the downtown festival season begins in August.
