MEDIA ADVISORY: Over 30 employers looking to hire TeenQuest graduates at job fair

WHAT:
Nearly 250 students hope to gain summer employment through the Summer Youth Initiative (SYI) program. Graduates from the TeenQuest pre-employment and leadership training program and are ages 14-19 will interview with over 30 local non-profit and for-profit employers at this job fair open to students who applied by May 3.

If hired, students will work through SYI for the next three months gaining important job skills, creating connections, exploring future career options, and earning a paycheck. For some students, this will be their first job experience, while others have been part of the program for years.

TeenQuest and SYI are programs of Flint & Genesee Education & Talent, a division of the Flint & Genesee Group, and are made possible through the generous support of funders including the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
