Glenn Wilson, President/CEO of Communities First, Inc. was selected for the upcoming Vanguard Conference in Newcastle, Australia. The Vanguard conference is a gathering of the top young urban innovators working to make change in cities. Designed to bring together professionals working across disciplines and sectors, each Vanguard class includes policymakers and politicians, architects and urban planners, artists and mediamakers, all selected through a competitive application process.
Glenn was selected from a pool of 220 applicants who were competing for 50 spots at the conference. Twenty five of the 50 spots were reserved for residents of Australia and New Zealand with the remaining slots being for applicants from all around the world. The conference will culminate with a Big Idea challenge that will allow attendees to leave a lasting impression on the city of Newcastle.
“This is an amazing opportunity to share with and learn from some of the best minds in urban revitalization. I am looking forward to experiencing another legacy city in a different country to better understand the challenges faced worldwide. I am excited about what I will learn that can be implemented at the local level,” said Wilson.
