I would like to invite you to our International Peace Day and Unity March Celebration on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at The University of Michigan-Flint. This year, The Genesee County Committee for Community Peace (The Peace Committee) is collaborating with The Flint Genesee Job Corps Center, WOW Outreach, Genesee Health System and The University of Michigan-Flint to celebrate their Annual Peace day on the “International Peace Day” which is celebrated all over the world.
The Program on September 21st , begins at 12:00 noon, with Welcome and opening remarks by Chancellor Susan Borrego, at The Mahatma Gandhi Statue in Willson Park, 303 E. Kearsley St, Flint, MI 48502. This is followed by the Universal prayer, and Unity March to the North Bank Center, 432 North Saginaw Street, Flint, MI 48502. The Program at the North Bank Center begins at 1:00 pm. It includes: Welcoming the keynote speaker, short speeches on “Peace and Unity” from representatives of each Partner Organizations; presentation of the “Peace Maker of the Year Award; presentation of “Mentor of the Year” Award and a “Peace Song” presented by Youth of Job Corps. Refreshments will be provided. The program ends at 2:30 pm.
This is a great opportunity for all the members of Flint and Genesee County to join together in promoting Peace, Unity, and, Harmony among our diverse population.
