Flint ReCAST invite Flint area residents & organizations to attend the Trauma-Informed Approaches Informational Training sponsored by SAMHSA NCTIC. The informational training will address Trauma-Informed Approaches in community settings. The training will be held over two sessions on Thursday, January 12th, and Friday, January 13th, at the Berston Fieldhouse. We ask participants to attend one of the sessions (Morning or Evening) on Thursday and the Strategic Planning session on Friday.
Speakers will include experts on trauma-informed approaches, as well as residents/professionals who have employed trauma-informed approaches in the Baltimore, MD community.
SAMHSA stands for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. SAMHSA leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation.
Key questions to be addressed at the Trauma Informed Care Training:
- What are trauma informed approaches?
- How can my organization do this?
- Is this only about clinical care?
- What about smaller community organizations?
Location: Berston Fieldhouse
Dates: January 12th (choose to attend Morning or Evening session)
Morning session: 9 AM to Noon
Evening session: 5:30 to 8:30 PM, dinner will be provided
January 13th: Roundtable Strategic Planning from 10 to 11:30 AM
