The year 2020 will be a critical year for building power in local communities across the country. You know it’s an election year, but did you know that it’s also A CENSUS YEAR?
Choices like funding schools, creating businesses, and congressional representation are all based on how many people choose to be counted. People of color and low-income communities have been undercounted in the past and we need to change this now!
As people of faith, we are urging our too-often undercounted communities to participate in the 2020 Census through bootcamps, trainings and community organizing. The census will directly affect the resources that our families are given and how the federal budget is divided for the next decade.
