Are you looking to hone your skills and knowledge around creating vibrant, safe, connected and accessible places for all people in your community to walk and move as they desire? The Walking College could be just the place for you.
In this sixth year of the program, we are seeking 30 Walking College fellows who want to be part of bringing about transformative change to their neighborhoods. Applications are open now through February 28th.
As a 2021 Fellow, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Be paired with experienced leaders in the field and peers working in similar capacities across North America.
Learn about the historical underpinnings of the car-centric transportation landscape and the basics of design and policy that foster safe, inclusive, accessible design for non-motorized transportation.
Examine how issues like redlining, structural and environmental racism, ableism and other barriers affect the equitable implementation of safe, walkable communities.
Develop essential leadership skills for changing built and policy environments.
Create a blueprint for taking action on a particular problem in your community.
