Save the Date & Register for FGLN’s Community Connection & Listening Session

The Flint & Genesee Literacy Network (FGLN) invites the community to participate in a Community Connection & Listening session on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. This is a family-friendly, 2Gen event. Attendees of all ages are welcome, and free childcare will be provided (registration required). Please bring your family and help shape our community’s future! The session will be held at the Regional Technology Center on the campus of Mott Community College. Food and refreshments will be provided for all attendees.

This event is an opportunity for the community to provide valuable input that will help shape FGLN’s new strategic plan, guiding the organization’s educational and literacy support services for the next three years. FGLN is committed to ensuring that all voices are heard as they work to build better systems and brighter futures for learners of all ages in Genesee County.

“We share an expansive vision of community literacy,” said Vincent Slocum, Executive Director. “We believe that literacy means more than one’s ability to read and write. It means opportunity. We believe that when individuals and families are empowered through literacy, their economic, social, and political well-being is improved as well. It takes the work of numerous partners and a whole community of support. By joining us for this session, you will have a direct hand in shaping the direction of literacy services and creating bridges to opportunity across our region.”

This event is free and open to the public. FGLN encourages anyone with a vested interest in literacy and education to attend and share their perspectives. Your voice matters, and together, we can make a difference.
