Custom School Programs and Group Adventures
FENTON, MICH. – There’s more to YMCA Camp Copneconic than just summer camps. Nestled among 700 acres of wooded lakefront property in Fenton, the facility operates year round hosting school and scout groups, church retreats, conferences and trainings, holiday parties and teambuilding events — in addition to its popular lineup of summer day and overnight camps.
School programs include day and overnight options, which can be customized to compliment existing classroom curriculum. Camp Copneconic staff members are committed to helping teachers educate their students through building an appreciation for the natural world and strengthening group interaction skills. Students will be immersed in hands-on activities that incorporate the fun of outdoor recreation and promote a greater sense of independence and respect.
Scouts, church groups and other non-profit organizations will also find exciting, educational and adventurous activities through a Camp Copneconic experience. With a variety of facility options to choose from, event organizers can hold small group discussions in one of many intimate breakout spaces, or host large group gatherings in the Copneconic Lodge. The lodge can accommodate up to 400 guests for meals and doubles as an assembly hall with a stage and audiovisual system. On-site food service is also available, making event planning even easier.
Beyond the modern ranch-style lodges and rustic cabins, Camp Copneconic offers a long list of unique outdoor experiences that can be incorporated into a customized group adventure. Activities may include the high ropes course, zip line, rock climbing wall and waterfront activities on 125-acre Lake Copneconic.
To learn more and sample some of the programs and activities available at YMCA Camp Copneconic, the public is invited to attend a free Community Open House on Sunday, March 10 from 2 to 5 p.m. Camp staff will be on hand to provide tours, answer questions and offer scheduling assistance to those interested school programs and group adventures. Parents can also register their children for summer day and overnight camps during the event at the lowest prices of the season.
