Communities First, Inc.’s Green Life program is hosting two environmental education forums. Green Life events are designed to educate residents and businesses about environmentally friendly practices.
Business Forum
The Green Life Business Forum will be held at Sloan Museum on Monday, April 9 from 11am – 4:30pm. The business forum is open to representatives from businesses or organizations in Flint and Genesee County. Topics include: Corporate Responsibility, Reducing Waste, Funding Energy Upgrades, Buying Local, Green Cleaning and a Green Challenge. Vendors will be on hand from BlueGreen Alliance Foundation, Michigan Saves, Iris Waste Diversion Specialists, Shaklee and Michigan Agency for Energy. The cost to attend is $20 and includes lunch. Community Forum
The Green Life Community Forum will be held at Sloan Museum on Saturday, April 21 from 11am – 2pm. The forum is open to all residents of Flint and Genesee County. Topics include: Why Green Products Make Sense, Upcycling 101: Trash to Treasure, Starting a Garden and Ways to Save on Your Energy Bills. A Make & Take session featuring chemical free laundry soap and an all-purpose cleaner. Kids of all ages will enjoy Love the Earth, based on Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax and includes a short story, craft and snack. Vendors will be on hand from Michigan Saves, Genesee County Master Gardener Association and Shaklee.There is no cost to attend, however lunch will be provided to those who register by April 16.
