April is National Fair Housing Month
“Building Greater Flint Communities”
The Flint Area Community Housing Resource Board and the Housing Partners of the Great Flint Area are engaged in a joint effort to focus attention on housing issues in the Greater Flint Community.
The initial “kick-off” is a press conference on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 10:30am in the Lobby at City Hall 1101 S. Saginaw Street Flint MI. The press conference will feature housing partners sharing information on Fair Housing issues. You will learn about your housing rights and how to obtain up to $30,000 to stay in your home and up to $15,000 to repair your home. This 2015 Fair Housing Conference will surely assist in “Building Greater Flint Communities” for generations to come. The Fair Housing Conference will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2015 8:30am – 2:00pm at Bethel United Methodist Church 1309 N. Ballenger Highway Flint MI. The Conference and Luncheon are Free. Plenary Sessions are Landlord/Tenant Rights and Responsibilities, Foreclosure/tax Assistance, Home Improvements grants and Building Strong Communities.
Education and Outreach are important tools and our goal is to make the Genesee County Community aware of information and resources that are available to ensure the Building of Greater Flint Communities.
